The Boston Molasses Disaster of 1919
On a blustery morning in that fateful year, disaster struck Boston. A massive tank filled with sticky, sweet molasses burst sending a torrent of the thick liquid flowing through the streets. The impact was catastrophic, crushing buildings and trapping people in a gooey soup. Dozens of people were fatally injured, and many more sustained injuries.
